Whatsapp many types of messages come to you, some of them are true and some lie. Recently, the message of a product offer is being forwarded on WhatsApp, in which the message is being claimed that free beer is being given by the Heineken brand in lockdown. In this message, it has been claimed that four beers are being given free from the company instead of filling a survey. It has been confirmed by Heineken that the message being shared on WhatsApp is a scam and no such offer is being made by the company. Such scams are very common and the purpose of these 'fishing' attacks is to steal your private details. Apart from this, scammers can also earn money with the help of scam.
This message being shared on WhatsApp was shared by a Twitter user with the company and inquired about it. The company replied to the user that yes, it is a scam. Please do not click on the link provided with it and thank you for bringing it to our notice. Users clicking on the link with this message were directed to a fake Heineken website and had to fill in their details to complete the survey.
Do not make the mistake of trusting any such message. Apart from this, companies never share such offer messages on WhatsApp. If you open a website, then it is wise to crosscheck its url, otherwise you can easily be made a victim of a phishing attack.
